Spam Filtering

Q: How does "Spam Vault " email filtering work?

A: SpamVault allows you to block e-mail from spammers. SpamVault can block unwanted email, spam, viruses, executable attachments, duplicate messages, Base64 email, web-bugs and images. You can save your spam to a repository or simply vaporize it. You can also log all your email, viewing your log in a nice easy HTML interface. Advanced Hosting will always have the latest, most up to date version of SpamVault on our servers.

SpamVault works a lot like Outlook Filters - you create "rules" to catch spam, and it does the rest. The first step is to add an entry in the text box appropriately named, "Add an entry". An example of an entry would be a spammer's email address. SpamVault is not case sensitive, so you can use ALL CAPS or lower case - makes no difference. There are radio buttons called Block-triggers to the right of this box with the letters F,T,R,S & B next to them. These represent the area of the email that is used to trigger the blocking of the email. For instance, the "F" stands for email "From" someone. In the example here, we want to block any email coming "From" the email address spammer@spam.com, so we would make sure the radio button next to the "F" is checked.

Each account has there own spam guard and quarantine that can be setup as you see fit.

Q: Does " Spam Vault" make email slower?

A: No

Q: What is the cost to have my email filtered?

A: All Advanced Hosting accounts have a selection of spam and virus filtering options. Each account offers SpamGuard, SpamVault and Quaranteen.

Q: Is "spamming" permitted through my account?

A: NO. Advanced Hosting is committed to a zero-tolerance, anti-Spamming policy. Under this policy, we prohibit Spam, or any unsolicited commercial email, from being sent either: Over the Advanced Hosting network, by customers or any other users of the Advanced Hosting network (including customers' customers); AND/OR over ANY network- if the message sent advertises or mentions a site hosted on the Advanced Hosting server.

We react quickly and seriously to violations, and we further reserve the right to terminate the services, without prior notice, of any customer disregarding this policy. Sending unsolicited commercial email (a.k.a. "spam"), cross-posting messages to a large number of usenet groups, posting obscene or threatening messages while using or referring to an Advanced Hosting email address or web site URL is prohibited. The use of Advanced Hosting servers as a mail drop for responses to activities described above is also prohibited. Accounts canceled due to spam will be billed a "clean up" fee of $500.
