Q: What is hosting?

A: A host is essentially a company that rents space on a computer that is connected to the internet, and that is optimized for displaying websites. Advanced Web is company that provides this kind of hosting. Advanced Web does not provide access to the internet, these companies are called "Internet Service Providers." You will need to have an ISP such as Earthlink, AOL, or a local DSL or broadband provider to use our services.

Q: How can I make changes to my site?

A: Most account maintenance issues can be handled in your Control Panel. Simply access your control panel and click on "Account Maintenance"

Q: Can I access my site with or without the 'www'?

A: Yes. All Advanced Hosting accounts are configured to resolve with or without the www.

Q: Do I have unlimited access to edit my site?

A: Yes. There are no time or access limits with our services. You can access your account 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and 365 days a year.

Q: What platform do your servers run on?

A:All Advanced Hosting server are DELLTM brand servers running Linux and Apache.

Q: Do you place advertisements on my page?

A: Advanced Hosting will never place an ad on your web site. We do not access your server area unless requested by you.

Q: Can I host multiple websites?

A: Advanced Hosting reseller packages will allow you to host an unlimited number of web sites and when you are ready you can upgrade to your own server with our service.

Q: What kind of connection does Advanced Hosting have to the Internet backbone?

A: Advanced Hosting connects to the internet through an OC-12 connection backed up by OC-3 connections through three providers. AT&T, Quest and MFS.

Q: Can I upgrade my account if my site gets larger?

A: Yes. You an always upgrade your account at any time. Unused months from your old account, if prepaid, will be credited towards the new service.

Q: Can I add services later?

A: Yes. Through your control panel you can add any of our offered services available with your purchased package.

Q: What happens if I go over my storage or bandwidth limits?

A: If you should exceed your bandwidth, you will be charged $5 per GB of overage. You site will continue to function at normal speed and you will experience no down time! In the event you exceed your storage you will not be able to upload any more files until you either upgrade your account or delete some files. You website will never shutdown because of this, you will continue to receive full service for the pages that are on your server account.

Q: Do you restrict what we can put on our site?

A: Advanced Hosting does not support pornography or any illegal content and will not allow this type of content on our servers. We do not host adult sites and we do not support or condone spam. Other than that you can put what ever you want on your site.

Q: How often can I make changes?

A: You can make changes as often as you would like.

Q: Does Advanced Hosting support Microsoft FrontPage?

A: Yes. FrontPage extensions and fontpage are available through your control panel.

Q: Does Advanced Hosting also design web pages?

A: Yes. Advanced Hosting provides web design services through our sister company Advanced Web.

Q: Does Advanced Hosting offer technical support 24 hours a day 7 days a week?

A: We have technicians available to answer questions via email 24/7, via chat from 10-5 monday through friday, and via help desk 24/7. Phone support is available from 8-10pm Monday through Saturday. If we are helping other customers when you call, you can leave a message and we will return your call ASAP.

Q: What are Advanced Hosting's Name Server Addresses?

Q: Do you provide dial-up Internet access?

A: No. We are not an Internet Service Provider.

Q: Do I have to sign a contract to use your service?

A: When you signup for hosting services you will be asked to read our terms and use policy. For standard hosting services we do not have a required contract. You can cancel at any time by filling out our cancellation form.

Q: How long after I sign up will I be able to start uploading my website?

A: You account will be set up immediately when you sign up. You can begin uploading your website as soon as we have verified your payment. We verify all payments made to safeguard our clients and future clients credit card information. With all of the identity theft going on we feel it is important to be sure someone is not falsly using your credit card.

Q: Do you offer secure server space for transferring credit card information?

A: Yes. You can install your secure server from your control panel. All accounts have this available.

Q: Is Advanced Hosting a Reseller?

A: No. We lease our servers from a secure, environmentally controled datacenter in Baltimore MD. We do not resell for another host.

Q: Does Advanced Hosting use Unix or NT servers?

A: Advanced Hosting uses Linux servers.

Q: What do I get with my account?
